How it works

Three parts. One cell.

Tag

On the person or the asset. It transmits a short UWB blink five times a second when moving and once every two seconds at rest. Replaceable coin cell, Bluetooth for setup and updates.

Anchors

Four or more on walls or ceilings make a cell. Each anchor is powered over USB-C and reaches the server over Ethernet; a Bluetooth gateway is optional, for low-rate configurations. No cables between anchors: they synchronise over the air.

Manager

The screen in the control room and the engine behind it, on your own server. Live map, topology and calibration, anchor diagnostics and alarms, firmware updates over the air, an API for your systems.

Specifications

Every figure with its condition.

Accuracy as observed at the first installation; larger cells are being characterised and the figures will be published with their conditions. Alarms (SOS, fall, no movement), rechargeable tags and PoE anchors arrive with Loki 2, in development.

RENDER

Where it works

Plants, yards, wards.

Industrial plants and oil & gas

Who is where in a plant. The first pilot of Loki 2 is being prepared with [30] workers at an outdoor site, in non-hazardous areas; certification for zone 1 is planned.

Logistics

Pallets, forklifts and people on one map. Positions to the WMS through the API. Zone rules and proximity warnings: Loki 2, in development.

Healthcare

Equipment and staff accounted for across wards. Anchors on walls where a power socket is reachable; nothing between anchors. Mustering in an evacuation: Loki 2, in development.

FAQ

Questions before ordering.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer. You send the order on this site, we confirm availability and send a proforma invoice within two working days, you pay, we ship with the invoice. No payment is taken on the site.

What does a first cell need?

Four anchors, each with a USB-C 5 V power supply and an Ethernet port. The gateway is optional: it connects up to seven anchors over Bluetooth instead of Ethernet and is recommended only for low-rate configurations, few tags mostly at rest. Add anchors to cover more area. Tags are sold separately, in any quantity.

Is the software included?

Yes. Loki Manager and the positioning engine run on your own server (Docker) and come with every cell, with firmware and software updates and no yearly licence. Loki Care is an optional yearly service.

Do I need cables to the anchors?

Yes, for power: each anchor runs from a 5 V USB-C supply. For data, an Ethernet cable to the anchor; the Bluetooth gateway is optional and suits low-rate configurations only. There are no cables between anchors: they synchronise over the air. PoE anchors arrive with Loki 2, in development. There is no battery anchor and there will not be one: the receiver is on all the time, and a battery would last days, not years.

How long does the tag battery last?

We are measuring it and will publish the figure with its profile. The order of magnitude is months, not years: the tag blinks five times a second when it moves. The cell is a standard CR2450 and takes a minute to replace.

What about VAT and shipping?

Prices are ex VAT. Italian customers pay 22% VAT; EU companies with a valid VAT number are invoiced under reverse charge; outside the EU, duties are by the recipient. Shipping: Italy €15, free above €500; EU €35, free above €1,500; elsewhere quoted.

Is Loki certified?

The UWB and Bluetooth module is a certified module. The CE declaration of conformity for the Loki boards is not issued yet; we publish it when it is, with the technical file. ATEX: not certified; the pilot runs in non-hazardous areas and certification for zone 1 is planned and will be published with its marking, not before.

Does Loki make my plant compliant?

No. Under D.Lgs. 81/2008 the obligations sit with the employer. Loki supports the risk assessment with data and feeds the emergency plan with a time-stamped log; it does not guarantee safety.

What is the warranty?

Two years against manufacturing defects. Defective items are repaired or replaced.
